Living Tokyo – Work, Dance, and Snakes

Waaah! Guys it has been a while since my last post, I am so sorry (ごめんなさい). Did you miss me? Here is a never ending story of changes and new things. Now I should be studying for exams that will start again tomorrow, but it’s okay, wish me good luck and everything will be fine 🙂 ah, by the way, good Respect for the Aged Day!

New posts on Social Media
I just started posting on my Instagram again, which is gaining a lot of likes! Thank you! After finishing my winter memories, I will proceed with the spring ones, and then summer. Hope you like my pictures.
On YouTube (don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t done it yet!) I just posted all the videos I had to create for my school’s Summer Party. It was a real fun, and I even won a blender at Bingo! Let me know what you think about them.
On Facebook I post more about my daily life, funny moments or experiences, my drawings and fan arts. Have a look if you want for example see the amazing Gudetama train I take to go to school.

School and work again
As soon as I got home (in Tokyo), I started school and work again. The first two weeks were like the last three before going back to Europe: completely busy. Four hours school and four hours in the office, plus three hours study at night. All of this stuff seasoned with a good amount of jet lag. You can imagine how I felt.
But there is a plot twist: From this Tuesday I began working from home. But of course I started using the time I gained for giving Italian lessons and writing and translating articles as a freelance. Sometimes I hear my mind say: “If you want to kill yourself, you are doing it right, Elly!”
At school we immediately started at a fast pace. New grammar, new Kanji, and a good amount of new exams. Last Friday we had to present a topic of our choice for seven minutes plus three minutes of questions. I talked about my trips in Japan and my photographic exhibition. I have the movie, comment here or on my Social Media pages if you want me to upload it!

Friends, dance, and snakes
You read it right: snakes. But first things first. I saw old and new friends, and I have different new projects under construction!
I met for the first time Patric (from LinkedIn!), his girlfriend and their friend, with whom I ate my first Sukiyaki. I must admit I prefer it to the Shabu-Shabu. What do you think? Remember to text me if you are around Tokyo, I will be more than happy to meet you!
Then, with my friend Andrea we went to see the Awa Odori Festival in Kouenji, while in another weekend we planned a little trip for the beginning of October, and she made me discover the LODGE, a Yahoo Japan’s shared work-space (pictures on Facebook).
Last but not least, there is Sheena. We met at the Summer Party (she is the girl who dances alone in the “Performance” movie) and from that moment our friendship began. I love dancing, and with other guys we are preparing a beautiful choreography for a contest, stay tuned! It is with her that today I went to a “Snake Café”, where we had the chance to play with very big and cute snakes. I am glad I found a person as crazy as me!

Talking about dancing, yesterday I have been to the Ultra Japan. I traveled back in time with my favorite DJs like Ingrosso, Armin Van Buuren, and Sven Vath. I still remember Sven talking to me about his family and work, it was at least five years ago, in Ascona, Switzerland. A life that seems so far from now. Who knows what will happen in the future? Waaah! Ragazzi è passato un po’ di tempo dal mio ultimo post, scusatemi (ごめんなさい). Vi sono mancata? Qui è una storia infinita di cambiamenti e cose nuove. Ora dovrei studiare per gli esami che ricominceranno domani, ma è ok, auguratemi buona fortuna e andrà tutto bene 🙂 ah, a proposito, buon Giorno del Rispetto per gli Anziani!

Nuovi post sui social media
Ho appena ricominciato a pubblicare post sul mio Instagram, che sta guadagnando molti mi piace! Grazie! Dopo aver terminato i miei ricordi invernali, procederò con quelli primaverili, e poi l’estate. Spero vi piacciano le mie foto.
Su YouTube (non dimenticate di iscrivervi se non lo avete ancora fatto!) ho appena pubblicato tutti i video che ho dovuto create per il Summer Party della mia scuola. È stato davvero divertente, ho persino vinto un frullatore al Bingo! Fatemi sapere cosa ne pensate.
Su Facebook pubblico perlopiù cose sulla mia vita di tutti i giorni, momenti divertenti o esperienze, i miei disegni e le mie fan art. Date un’occhiata se volete ad esempio vedere l’incredibile treno di Gudetama che prendo per andare a scuola.

Ricominciati scuola e lavoro
Appena arrivata a casa (a Tokyo), ho ricomincato scuola e lavoro. Le prime due settimane sono state come le ultime tre prima di tornare in Europa: completamente frenetiche. Quattro ore di scuola e quattro ore in ufficio, più tre ore di studio la notte. Tutte queste cose condite con una buona quantità di jet lag. Potete immaginare come mi sono sentita.
Ma c’è un colpo di scena: da questo martedì ho iniziato a lavorare da casa. Ma ovviamente ho iniziato a usare il tempo che ho guadagnato per dare lezioni di italiano,  come anche scrivere e tradurre articoli da freelance. A volte sento la mia mente dire: “Se vuoi ucciderti, lo stai facendo nel modo giusto, Elly!”
A scuola abbiamo iniziato subito a un ritmo veloce. Nuova grammatica, nuovi Kanji e una buona quantità di nuovi esami. Venerdì scorso abbiamo dovuto presentare un argomento a nostra scelta per sette minuti più tre di domande. Ho parlato dei miei viaggi in Giappone e della mia mostra fotografica. Ho il video, commentate qui o sulle mie pagine social media se volete che lo carichi!

Amici, danza e serpenti
Avete letto bene: serpenti. Ma prima narriamo le cose che vengono prima. Mi sono vista con vecchi e nuovi amici, e ho diversi nuovi progetti in cantiere!
Ho incontrato per la prima volta Patric (da LinkedIn!), la sua ragazza e un loro amico, con cui ho mangiato il mio primo Sukiyaki. Devo ammettere che lo preferisco alla Shabu-Shabu. Cosa ne pensate? Ricordatevi di mandarmi un messaggio se siete nei dintorni di Tokyo, sarò più che felice di incontrarvi!
Poi, con la mia amica Andrea siamo andate a vedere l’Awa Odori Festival a Kouenji, mentre in un altro weekend abbiamo programmato un piccolo viaggio per l’inizio di ottobre, e lei mi ha fatto scoprire il LODGE, uno spazio di lavoro condiviso di Yahoo Japan (foto su Facebook).
Ultima ma non meno importante, Sheena. Ci siamo incontrate al Summer Party (è la ragazza che balla da sola nel filmato “Performance”) e da quel momento è iniziata la nostra amicizia. Adoro ballare, e con altri ragazzi stiamo preparando una bellissima coreografia per un concorso, restate sintonizzati! È con lei che oggi sono andata in uno “Snake Café”, dove abbiamo avuto la possibilità di giocare con grandi serpenti molto carini. Sono contenta di aver trovato una persona pazza come me!

Parlando di ballo, ieri sono stata all’Ultra Japan. Sono tornata indietro nel tempo con i miei DJ preferiti come Ingrosso, Armin Van Buuren e Sven Vath. Ricordo ancora Sven che mi parlava della sua famiglia e del suo lavoro, è stato almeno cinque anni fa, ad Ascona, in Svizzera. Una vita che sembra così lontana da ora. Chissà cosa accadrà in futuro? Ci vediamo nel prossimo post!
