Hello everyone! How is your life going? Mine is pretty busy, among school and events. And I am currently writing this article on a train, heading to Nikko. But this will may be the subject of another article. Let’s see the highlights of February and March!
Elly in the news
On March 3, exactly one year after our first live, I was invited again by Yari Copt in his programme “Il Monolocale di Yari” of the Swiss private radio station Radio3i. You can watch and hear the video/audio I created on my YouTube channel. I participated, and I will participate to other programs and with other channels, do not forget to check out the Elly In the News page. For English speakers, there is also something in English programmed, stay tuned!
Interesting Events
One thing I discovered here in Tokyo are Meetups. They are pretty famous also in Italy and Switzerland, but it was the first time for me to participate to them. I have been to events about digital marketing and networking, where I met new interesting people and found a good friend, Yuki. Through LinkedIn, I was invited to the gala of I Love Italian Food in Ginza, where I had the chance to eat amazing Italian cuisine. In April I will participate to one of the TEDxTokyo Salons, I have been part of the TEDx family since 2016 so I cannot wait to see how it is in Tokyo!
Tokyo 2020 volunteering
In my previous article, when I was coming back to Tokyo, I cited the Olympic Games of next year. Why I really want to be here when they happen? Because I chose to be a volunteer! On March 4 I have been to the first orientation session, where we received some pieces of information, got to know other volunteers, did a team play, an interview, and had the chance to try the uniform in advance to know our sizes. Now I just have to wait until the next communication, that will occur later this year.
Study and trips
Now I am exactly in the middle of the final exams for this term. If I pass, in the next one we will prepare for the JLPT N2, a very important exam (just a step before the “native speaker” test) that will be held in July. About Japanese, I participated to the school’s speech contest (article’s photo), and won the Jury Special Award. You can watch the video of the speech and award ceremony on my YouTube channel!
A lot of stress, but as I said, I am on a train to a (hopefully) relaxing trip (update: it was a good weekend, but I think I got a cold). For the future, I programmed other trips, but adventurous ones. If it is not adventurous, Elly is not happy 😀

Eventi interessanti
Una cosa che ho scoperto qui a Tokyo sono i Meetup. Sono piuttosto famosi anche in Italia e in Svizzera, ma per me è stata la prima volta che vi partecipavo. Sono stata ad eventi sul marketing digitale e sul networking, dove ho incontrato nuove persone interessanti e ho trovato una buona amica, Yuki. Attraverso LinkedIn, sono stata invitata al gala di I Love Italian Food a Ginza, dove ho avuto l’opportunità di mangiare una cucina italiana straordinaria. Ad aprile parteciperò a uno dei TEDxTokyo Salon, faccio parte della famiglia TEDx dal 2016, quindi non vedo l’ora di vedere com’è a Tokyo!
Volontariato di Tokyo 2020
Nel mio precedente articolo, quando stavo tornando a Tokyo, ho citato i Giochi olimpici del prossimo anno. Perché voglio davvero essere qui quando accadono? Perché ho scelto di fare la volontaria! Il 4 marzo sono stata alla prima sessione di orientamento, dove abbiamo ricevuto alcune informazioni, conosciuto altri volontari, fatto un gioco di squadra, un colloquio e avuto la possibilità di provare in anticipo la divisa per conoscere le nostre taglie. Ora devo solo aspettare la prossima comunicazione, che avverrà entro la fine di quest’anno.
Studio e viaggi
Ora sono esattamente nel mezzo degli esami finali per questo trimestre. Se passo, nel prossimo prepareremo il JLPT N2, un esame molto importante (solo un passo prima del test “madrelingua”) che si terrà a luglio. Riguardo al giapponese, ho partecipato al concorso linguistico della scuola (foto dell’articolo) e ho vinto il premio speciale della giuria. Un sacco di stress, ma come ho detto, sono su un treno per un (si spera) viaggio rilassante (aggiornamento: è stato un buon fine settimana, ma penso di aver preso un raffreddore). Per il futuro, ho programmato altri viaggi, ma di quelli avventurosi. Se non c’è avventura, Elly non è felice 😀
